Our Story
It all started with a small digger and a tractor, back in the year 2000.
Husband and wife Kevin and Bridget Thompson began providing small-scale contracting services for lifestyle blocks across the Mid Canterbury region. Realising the demand for smaller machinery was not being filled, Kevin and Bridget seized the opportunity, setting-up KT’s Contracting and purchasing the area’s very first Bobcat.
Agile yet powerful, the Bobcat easily tackled all those difficult areas larger machines couldn’t access. It eased on-site logistical hassles, allowing Kevin and Bridget to focus on what they loved doing: getting the job done.
Our Services
Over time, KT’s diversified their services to include Agricultural Contracting, Residential Contracting and Concreting. In 2016, Kevin and Bridget passed the business over to the care of their son Ben, and his wife, Jenny. This generation of Thompsons built on what Kevin and Bridget started with the business overall and have recently re-branded the yard.
Our Machinery
As we grew, so did our fleet of trucks and earthmoving equipment. KT’s Contracting Services and Methven Landscape Supplies now owns a range of compact and powerful machinery, including: Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders, Bobcat 2-Tonne Zero-Swing Diggers, plus 5 and 10-tonne Tip Trucks. All our machinery is available to hire within the Mid Canterbury region.
